Now More Than Ever - Reconciliation Week assembly was an opportunity to reinforce the importance of the two dates that are significant to Reconciliation Week. Through celebrating the 1967 Referendum and the 1992 Mabo Decision, our school have the opportunity to understand how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have always been custodians of these lands their undeniable and deep connection it.
The assembly was also a wonderful segue into understanding the theme of Reconciliation Week for 2024 'Now More Than Ever' as students are introduced to the many events in our shared history that have contributed to the concept of reconciliation and strengthened the way it can happen. It is important that our students learn this history as they are the future of our country and through their actions, they will influence how reconciliation is achieved.
