In science and technology, students explore the natural and made worlds. They learn how to apply scientific and technological skills, knowledge and understanding across a broad range of contexts.
Science provides a way of inquiring about the world around us. It explores evidence and investigates ways to discover, develop and produce solutions to real world problems. The inquiry and skill-based nature of science opens doors to ideas and discoveries.
Our Innovation Room is filled with the latest technology for our students to explore.
At Briar Road Public School Technology is integrated into every classroom across the school from Preschool to Year 6.
Our staff are committed to providing innovative ways for our students to learn, explore, collaborate and create. This provides our students with the opportunity to make sense of their world and consider new age world problems and solutions.
Briar Road Public School has been investing in new technologies, with a particular focus on mobile technology. Teachers are upskilled with new technology to ensure it is embedded throughout learning experiences. Students are provided with working and efficient technological tools that support learning across all KLA’s.
Students have the opportunity to engage in Real Life Learning Projects where technology is integrated as purposeful and authentic lessons. Technologies involve: IPads, Laptops, Dash Robots, Lego Wedo 2.0, Ozobots and Lego Mindstorms ev3. Students use a range of online tools to become innovative future focuses learners.
