As Briar Road celebrate Close The Gap Day in 2024, we as a school, acknowledge the work as Australians we need to do towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander recognition, rights, justice and equity.
Throughout our shared history, unfortunately at times Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have suffered from such disparity in the opportunities offered compared to non-Aboriginal people. It is those differences that have resulted in the ‘gap’ that exists between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders people’s outcomes in health, education, employment and many more.
