Our students enjoyed our Safe Surf excursion at Sandon Point Beach - Bulli, which was designed to educate our primary students about water safety, surfing techniques, and the importance of respecting the ocean.
The day began with an engaging session, where students learned about rip currents, reading surf conditions, understanding the tide, what to do if you find yourself in danger and the importance of never swimming alone.
Following the educational session, it was time for the highlight of the day: surfing! Under the watchful eye of their instructors, our students practiced paddling and balance techniques. Some students braved the perfect surf conditions in an attempt to catch their first wave. Some were succesful but mostly they were just happy to splash around in the waves.
We hope that our students remember these Safe Surf skills and apply these practical skills the next time they attend the beach.
